Physician Biography | Dr. Johnson's Team
Dr. Christopher Johnson is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon specializing in adult scoliosis, deformity, complex failed back surgery, artificial disc replacement and minimally invasive spine surgery. He graduated medical school from University of Colorado and completed his residency in orthopedics at the prestigious Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. He then completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. At Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Johnson was involved with clinical outcomes tracking. Dr. Johnson treats adult scoliosis including flatback syndrome. For artificial disc replacement Dr. Johnson is proficient with the Simplify, M6 and Prodisc C discs, all of which are FDA-approved. With minimally invasive spine surgery and the half-inch incision involved, many of Dr. Johnson’s patients are able to go home the same day of surgery. For low back surgeries, Dr. Johnson is able to use a lateral approach for a smaller incision and less disruption to muscles and ligaments, providing a less painful rehab post surgery. In his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys the Colorado outdoors with skiing, hiking and mountain biking.
